GoatFormat.com was proud to host GFC 4 on March 29th 2020. With fifty-one entrants, GFC 4 was largest live Goat Format tournament in the modern era. Check out the bracket for GFC 4 and a replay of the tournament stream on YouTube.

Fifty-one entries meant GFC 4 saw a more varied field of deck choices than the previous events. However, the percentage of Goat Control, Anti-meta Warrior, and Chaos decks remained close to average. You can check out the break down of our previous events here.

Runner up at GFC 4 was TheNano with their Thunder Dragon Chaos Turbo deck. It is worth noting TheNano did go undefeated on the winner's side of the bracket, but failed to show for the grand finals. So, this deck was not actually defeated.

GoatFormat.com: How often do you attend live events or compete online?
TheNano: I play some games online daily.

GF.com: How did you prepare for today's tournament?
TheNano: Some test games and few hours working on the sideboard.

GF.com: What matchups were you most prepared for?
TheNano: I felt pretty good about most matchups. The deck was very good at grinding out games and felt very hard to beat, but still had a few more auto-win openers compared to other control decks. The sideboard was great for handling unfair matchups.

GF.com:  What was your MVP card of the tourney?
TheNano: Solemn Judgment.

GF.com:  What are your past accomplishments in Yu-Gi-Oh!/Goat Format?
TheNano: Won/topped some tournaments.

GF.com: What changes, if any, would you make to your deck/side going forward?
TheNano: Maybe play Cyber Jar over one Deko main-deck.

GF.com:  Do you have any advice for players wanting to compete in future tournaments?
TheNano: You can't control luck, but you can control your misplays. So, try looking for alternative plays you could've made when a game finishes instead of complaining about luck.

GF.com:  Are there any shout-outs you want to make?
TheNano: To the staff for good organization, to the people I test with, to Peter for not writing me on messenger for finals. My fault, sorry about missing grand finals, I'll be more careful next time.

A big congratulations to the 4th ever GFC Champion geistD! geistD piloted his original take on Anti-Meta Warriors, playing Black Luster Solider, as well as two copies of Chaos Sorcerer.

GoatFormat.com: How often do you attend live events or compete online?
geistD: I would like to play goat irl but it is really dead where I live. I usually play a lot on these Facebook pages and play some guys who hang around there. :D

GF.com: How did you prepare for today's tournament?
geistD: As mentioned, I played a lot with some of these guys.

GF.com: What matchups were you most prepared for?
geistD: Of course Chaos, Goat Control, and Beatdown.

GF.com: Who were you not looking forward to playing against?
geistD: Only ProfessorHastig because he played my decklist as well and it's quite competitive to beat myself.

GF.com: What was your MVP card of the tourney?
geistD: I wish I had any cool tech card in the deck that worked surprisingly well, but of course this BLS guy is MVP in Chaos.

GF.com:  What are your past accomplishments in Yu-Gi-Oh!/Goat Format?
geistD: I won one of the latest FLCs with this funny "call-it-whatever-you-want" deck.

GF.com: What changes, if any, would you make to your deck/side going forward?
geistD: At the moment, I don't see are reason to change anything.

GF.com:  Do you have any advice for players wanting to compete in future tournaments?
geistD: I think if you just play better, then it's more likely that you win more matches and then it becomes more likely you top in a tourney.

GF.com:  Are there any shout-outs you want to make?
geistD: I really want to thank Goatformat.com and Skully for hosting this tournament. It is a big gain for the community and it is also fun for me to attend to these events or follow the stream. Thanks.
