Two of the most powerful and popular strategies of the format combined into one?! What could be better? This was likely the thinking of Logos Soup when they decided to enter today's event with this sweet "Chaos Monarch" brew!

232 entrants in the year's first Goat Format Championship, but only one can stand victorious! In the second day of the event the top 16 players from the day before will duke it out for the crown, but who are these talented duelists? Read on to learn more about them!
Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is one of the cards that feels so powerful when it works, but can't seem to find a solid fit in the meta. This is mostly due to its weakness to the omnipresent chaos monsters of the format. Historically, Roberto Martinez's Shonen Jump New Jersey 2005 deck placed well with the fiery fowl, but Phoenix has yet to see that sort of success again. Players like Kenny Hughes still believe in the bird, though, and this belief is what drove him to pilot a Sacred Phoenix deck in today's event!
With such a large crowd to start the year, we were bound to see some crazy decks in the GFC19 meta. I don't think anyone expected a full-fledged Archfiends list, though, but that's exactly what Erkator ran in their bid to be crowned a goat format champion!
Malte Löwecke (AKA Alephya2) is no stranger to deck techs and spicey strategies. So, it came as no surprise to us at Goatformat.com when we saw them enter with a sweet Horus Dragon list. Popular among casual circles, does the LV-themed dragon have what it takes to top a Goat Format Championship event?
A Whopping 232 players have arrived to compete in the first Goat Format championship event of 2023. Among them are both players known well within the community, and those that are looking to make a name for themselves. As far as the meta is concerned, most of the expected strategies, like Chaos Control, are represented in high numbers. Perhaps due to its strong placing in the most recent world championship event, there's an unusually high number of Earth Aggro players in the room as well. Ted Kruzsely (AKA Kombat Wombat) has ignored the recently popularized strategy however, in place of his own spice: Strike Ninja Reasoning Gate.
