Today we had the largest Goat Format Championship tournament (and the largest online Goat Format event period) ever! 266 players entered for a chance at over $1,000 in prizes and the following eight came out on top! Read on for some stellar insight from the finalists of the most successful modern tournament our format has seen yet!

José Rodriguez (AKA selim) entered our largest tournament ever with a touch of Maximillian Pegasus in his heart. Sure, Thunder Dragon Chaos Control isn't anything too special in terms of spice, but what if you add in just a pinch of Relinquished? 

Congrats to all of the players in the top eight of GFC17! Each player has earned an invite to the 2022 Goat Format World Championships for making it this far in the largest Goat Format Championship to date. Tomorrow we will crown a champion so keep an eye on coverage as we head into day two. For now, let's take a look at the  top eight decklists!

Luke Boncic (AKA Graceless) would fit in right next to any Sith lord, as he clearly has a thing for both power, and the dark side. His Strike Ninja list, which he dubbed "Darkstrike Turbo", has been performing well in the early rounds of GFC17, but will it get him to the top? 

Stall decks are nothing new to the format. That being said, its rare to see someone play a deck which has a win condition that most Yu-Gi-Oh! games consider an official challenge to complete. That's exactly what Daniel Magnin (Dmag) did today when he signed up with his Final Countdown deck, though! 

Goat Format Championship 17 is the largest event ever held by Goatformat.com, as well as the largest online Goat Format event ever! 266 players have signed up for a chance at over $1,000 in prizes! New faces and grizzled veterans are aplenty, and while the typical contenders have arrived in droves, plenty of spicy decks have also made their way into the tournament. Take Loleo's Monarch list, for example, which plays a high number of flip effects in what he calls his "Advantage Grind" deck.
