Note: all questions were directed to the team's captain, who was asked to answer for their team

How did your team prepare for today's event? As captain, was there anything specific you wanted your team to prepare for?
Woawa: Duelingbook rated. It's the fastest way to increase the amount of time you've spent learning your deck.  I took a hands off approach to preparation and just let my team do their thing.

Dingosig: "By watching LucasGustafsson videos"

What decks did your team play today and why? Was there a specific strategy you had in mind as each member made their choice?
Woawa: I was on Goat Control because I had strong results against aggro and performed well versus chaos builds. Lukaz went with a build similar to recent FLC winner Moxies' list because he thinks that it's the best choice in the meta right now. Dingosig played an Angel Return list that he won an ACS with.  He considers it to be a good meta call right now.

What decks or teams were you looking forward to playing against?
Woawa: I was hoping to face a lot of Chaos Turbo and Warrior, as that is what my deck is most tested against and built to face. Dingosig felt the same way. I didn't really have any teams that I was hoping to face, but Lukaz was hoping to play against We've Got Moxies for the challenge.

What decks or teams were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Woawa: I did not want to go up against alt win decks like Library and Ejar. Dingosig and Lukaz were both hoping to dodge burn. I wasn't hoping to dodge any teams this tournament.

What card has been overperforming for you today?
Woawa: The single Blade Knight really did so much for me.  One round, my opponent sided in two Kinetic Soldier when that was the only warrior I had (besides BLS) because he saw BK early and didn't see much else.

Lukaz: Swordsman Lv2 for sure. That card gets a quick plus one, then gives your opponent no choice but to attack into a battle trap.

Dingosig: Return won me most of my duels.

Is there a specific member of your team that you feel has been overperforming today? If so, who? Explain.
Woawa: I believe that the three of us have been performing solidly. Any time I felt shaky in my matches, my teammates got wins and I was able to secure victory to cover the other members.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Woawa: Seeing we had a round one bye for sure.

Dingosig: When I saw Woawa Tsuk looping Faith vs InsiDS, lol.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your or a team member's deck choice today?
Woawa: I would cut the Protector from my sideboard and maybe adjust the Trap Dustshoot ratios between main and side.  I haven't been seeing enough alt win to justify the Protector, and three Shoot in main has felt clunky in a lot of games.

I wouldn't make a change to a team member's decks because what I think is best and what they think is best probably doesn't match up.  There is no need for us to all play the same list just because I think it will be the best.

Lukaz: Pretty happy with the deck. I made a losing bet on the Wombats, but maybe I’ll win that bet next time.

Note: all questions were directed to the team's captain, who was asked to answer for their team

How did your team prepare for today's event? As captain, was there anything specific you wanted your team to prepare for?
Joseph (Jojomaking): Academy League. As captain, I was big on communication in this event. That's what makes this tournament so fun; you get to chat with your friends during the match.
Hayden (Sangan): Academy League
Benny (Kyrog112): Duelingbook Ranked.

What decks did your team play today and why? Was there a specific strategy you had in mind as each member made their choice?
Joseph (Jojomaking): Warrior. I'm most confident with the deck and like control over flip monsters.
Hayden (Sangan): Chaos Turbo. I believe it is the easiest deck to play.
Benny (Kyrog112): Reasoning Gate. I miss "That Grass Looks Greener" in current format.

What decks or teams were you looking forward to playing against?
Joseph (Jojomaking): No particular matchup; just happy our opponents were all cool people.

What decks or teams were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Joseph (Jojomaking): Probably FTK, but our only FTK opponent was really nice, which made the match enjoyable. ☺

What card has been overperforming for you today?
Joseph (Jojomaking): Probably Mystic Swordsman lvl2 or Judgment.
Hayden (Sangan): Night Assailant: Charity discard double NA is fire.
Benny (Kyrog112): Reasoning. I hit way too many times .

Is there a specific member of your team that you feel has been overperforming today? If so, who? Explain.
Joseph (Jojomaking): Hayden carried us today. Went almost undefeated as player A.  Huge props to Hayden!

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Joseph (Jojomaking): At one point in rounds two or three, we were all in a super grindy position and Benny just says "I'm having so much fun, I can't stop smiling". We all had a blast today, but that was definitely the highlight.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your or a team member's deck choice today?
Joseph (Jojomaking): Might want to add something more for FTK in the side. Depends on the event.
Hayden (Sangan): I've been going back and forth on tribe in main; I might try it next time.
Benny (Kyrog112): More copies of Reasoning and Monster gate... if only LOL

Note: all questions were directed to the team's captain, who was asked to answer for their team

How did your team prepare for today's event? As captain, was there anything specific you wanted your team to prepare for?
Moxies: Yes, we formed this team over a month prior and spent a lot of time discussing communication and how we would like to talk around each other during the match. We also had a meeting a week before where we would just practice and chat in discord to get comfortable with each others' voices.

What decks did your team play today and why? Was there a specific strategy you had in mind as each member made their choice?
Moxies: I brought Chaos Warriors, as I think its the deck I'm most comfortable with. I think it's on par with any other high-tier meta deck. Both my teammates brought Chaos Control as they have been piloting it for a long time and they felt good with it. We decided against any specific strategy in place of comfortability.

What decks or teams were you looking forward to playing against?
Moxies: We didn't care who we played as long as we were winning.

What decks or teams were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Moxies: We didn't wanna play gimmicky decks. We also didn't wanna play against Lukaz because he was our sub initially until he found a good team. He scrimmed with us a lot and was using my deck with small tweaks.

What card has been overperforming for you today?
Moxies: N/A
FDS: All 55 cards. I only lost because of variance.
Barristan: Royal Decree. It won against six traps, LOL!

Is there a specific member of your team that you feel has been overperforming today? If so, who? Explain.
Moxies: We were expecting Barristan to 0-2 drop (he always does in majors). Instead, everyone played incredibly. We were all super happy. Sometimes variance (and Lukaz) get ya.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Moxies: When Barristan realized we were in winners finals he almost passed out (luckily we had a long wait). Trash talking current-playing loses-to-goats legend FDS. Moxies enjoyed chatting with two great guys and great players.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your or a team member's deck choice today?
Moxies: Three Trap Dustshoot was bad
FDS: Nothing. The deck was great. Just unfortunate loses
Barristan: Can I change my teammate's decklists?

Note: all questions were directed to the team's captain, who was asked to answer for their team

How did your team prepare for today's event? As captain, was there anything specific you wanted your team to prepare for?
Cameron: We did a lot of separate preparation versus different fields. I played a lot of goat ranked on Duelingbook and Format Library Ironman tournaments every night, as well as the FLC last week (results don't matter). InsiDS and 10ply play and test pretty regularly, so I was sure they were prepared. I wanted us to prepare for Warrior and Chaos Turbo obviously, as they were guaranteed to be most of the field. And, aside from a run-in with Reasoning gate, it was indeed all we faced.

What decks did your team play today and why? Was there a specific strategy you had in mind as each member made their choice?
Cameron: InsiDS and I played Chaos Control, while 10ply played Chaos Turbo featuring a small warrior package. I wanted to be able to, at a moment's notice, gun TER and lock my opponent down. I played two Kycoo, DDWL, and SDM in the main to be aggressive. I only played three flip monsters (three Faiths) with the intention of putting out TER as often as possible, and making at least one of my opponent's NOCs (typically a strong card vs chaos variants) dead. InsiDS took a more traditional approach to Chaos Control, however. 10ply wanted to have an edge in the Chaos mirror by playing D.D. Warrior Lady and Mystic Swordsman LV 2, which did indeed work out often.

What decks or teams were you looking forward to playing against?
Cameron: I was looking forward to any Chaos matchup as I felt extraordinarily comfortable against them with my build. I also felt that they were very beatable as long as I played tight, good Yu-Gi-Oh!, and that it would come down to draws, which Scapegoat would mitigate. I was prepared for warriors as well, but I don't enjoy playing versus the deck. InsiDS was really itching to tackle them, but saw none. 10ply was really hoping for turbo, which is what he got.

What decks or teams were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Cameron: As usual, I didn't want to play against anything where I just don't play, like Library or Jar, and luckily I didn't. I also didn't want to play against the Pipe Bros as AJTBLS is my sworn enemy when it comes to opening hands; he manages to always outdraw me and then outplay me on top of it, lol. InsiDS didn't really care, and 10ply was not hype to play against any warriors.

What card has been overperforming for you today?
Cameron: For me and InsiDS: the third Scapegoat. I actually had convinced him to play it just a few hours before we submitted our lists and after testing I had him as convinced as I was. Scapegoat has to be a three-of in this meta, and every time we had it it put in serious work. The card is insane in Chaos Control. Definitely play three. 10ply said his card was MSLV2 which just ran the mirror match and gave him a huge edge. Raps, LOL!

Is there a specific member of your team that you feel has been overperforming today? If so, who? Explain.
Cameron: Not to sound conceited, but I really thought I did extremely well. With a solid 6-1 record, my only loss being round one to a Skill Drain deck. TER has a... suboptimal attack stat to say the least. InsiDS and 10ply played really well and it came down to some really bad luck on InsiDS's side (not being able to draw even a single one of his three Scapegoat).

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Cameron: Probably game one when I played against Madonna Puttana Spettrale, who is a really strong player that I've faced on the Duelingbook Goat ranked ladder. I was really worried going in because I know how good they are, but I think that match in particular I was super on my game, making incredibly strong reads and playing tightly, and I took a small advantage and pushed it to its absolute limits and he wasn't able to come back. The whole tournament I felt I played super tight and strong Yu-Gi-Oh!, but that match, as well as my match versus Dingosig, I felt it really shined.

InsiDS: My favorite moments were when the 3rd match didn’t need to be finished because we already advanced. Just letting the rest of the team know felt awesome. Like we defused a bomb.

10ply: One of my favorite moments was a game three when we needed to win and we were just chilling like, "yeah we got this." Like, playing a game and having your mates routing for you brought me back to YCS London on the top table where I had half my locals standing around. It was Nostalgic AF.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your or a team member's deck choice today?
Cameron: I'm not sure if my build was perfect, or any of ours. However, I don't think for this particular event I'd have changed anything. My list felt prepared for every deck, and even though I didn't play against any warriors, there were a lot of players in the C-list that I could have, so I'm glad I made my main and side preps for it.
