Let's examine how the Goat Format metagame is developing coming out the biggest GFC thus far! As many would expect, Chaos Turbo dominated in terms of pure amount of entries, with 52 duelist bringing the deck to the tournament. Chaos Warrior continues to trend upward, overtaking Thunder Dragon Chaos Control as the 2nd most popular deck for this event. 32 duelist chose to team the Warrior toolbox with Chaos Monsters, while 21 players opted for Scapegoats and Metamorphosis instead. All decks that are categorized as "Other" saw less than 3% of representation in the field. The most popular decks in this category included Chaos Flip Control, Reasoning Gate Turbo, and Soul Control. Despite the slight edge in number of entries that Chaos Warrior had over Thunder Dragon Chaos Control, Chaos Warrior did not boost itself into the later rounds of the tournament.
Interesting observation is that 3 of the top 8 teams had players bringing 3 different deck types, including the team that won the entire event. Overall, it sure is exciting to see how the meta will develop going into the next event. Will Chaos Turbo continue is rule or will a new deck type emerge to take the top spot as the most played deck in the format?
