How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
I did talk quite a bit with my brother (Delinkquent) about potential deck & card choices.

What deck did you play today and why?
Good question. I guess you could call it Cold Wave Monarch. As usual it was a spontaneous decision to run the deck / specific list.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
Warrior is a decent match-up, mostly post side though. Also, I geared the main to be able to handle Chaos Turbo fine (two Zaborgs, two Abyss, two NoC etc). I expected a lot of CT & iirc that‘s really all I played against so far.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
In general not against Panda. I do feel that it might be the best deck  in the format if the side is on point. Also, my main didn‘t have too many good answers.
What card had been overperforming for you today?
Abyss Soldier 🐋. I guess my brother & I have mentioned it often enough at this point, haha.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Can‘t remember anything in game. But, I was pretty happy once I safely made it to the Top 8 since that was the biggest mile stone to me.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
Don’t want to disappoint the people, but Reflect Bounder didn‘t feel too great so far. 🤭

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
I practiced with a friend.

What deck did you play today and why?
Burn because it is a consistent deck and I like to calculate and do math.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
Mostly I was expecting Turbo & Warriors. They are tough decks to play against.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
I was not looking forward to play against Control with Decree main deck.

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Morhing & Cyber Jar. Mine and sometimes my opponents' were very good today for me.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
The first game of the tournament that I was down to zero cards and my opponent had five or six I think and somehow I won.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
I think the deck was good. I would not make any changes if I could.

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
Yes, I want to thank my friend Michael, the Italian national Champion of Goat, for helping me understand some things and with testing a lot. Want to thank my other friends too, and my team for the support; love you all!

What deck did you play today and why?
I played Chaos turbo because I know I can give my best with that deck. Not an obvious but very strong list.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
I’m new to the format, so more strong people I meet, more fun it will be.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Definitely vs Reasoning, I don't want to see it at all.

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Swords of Revealing Light

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
When I came back in the game against Moxies. A good match to watch, I think. Losing the first game for ring was a hard blow, but karma has paid off. But, the second game is the best I have played in the tournament so far.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
Maybe only the Kycoo, need to test it more. The best part of the deck was the side deck. Honestly it helped me a lot. Perfect from my point of view.

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
Not really. I just play at my locals at Gamerschoice IRL. I’ve been experimenting with the same ratio of deck for a while, I just was working on which side board was going to be perfect for it.

What deck did you play today and why?
Chaos Turbo, to me it’s the best deck but what’s special about my turbo deck is really in the sideboard I side deck into warriors to throw the mirror match off and confuse them and to fight one for one with warriors.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
Just against Turbo. I’m trying to stay away from Burn as much as possible.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Any Burn or Panda Burn deck.

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Graceful: best card in the game right behind Delinquent Duo.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
My last match when I beat warriors I felt confident enough in my sideboard that I could battle with them.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
Probably side against Burn but I had no room so it is what it is! Lol

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
I prepared for this event by participating in GoatFormat.com PWCQ and GFF 1pm EST and 7pm EST events. I also theorized with my teammates on Oversweep. Finally, I prepared with many long conversations debating card choices with my best friend, Kris Perovic.

What deck did you play today and why?
I chose to play Warrior Turbo for this event because it allowed me to use an aggressive playstyle against opposing decks with added speed to get to critical cards. Post side, there are configurations available to give you advantage in specific matchups.

Although Chaos Turbo has the highest ceiling and I consider it the best deck of the format, I was concerned about the Warrior matchup with many Warrior players choosing to optimize their main deck to defeat Chaos Turbo. In the Chaos Turbo mirror matchup, many results were coins flips and post side, not much changes to give you any advantage against your opponent.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
The Warrior Turbo deck has a good matchup against the top two decks of the format, Chaos Turbo and Warriors so I was looking forward to playing these decks. As long as I can avoid full "Trinity," I feel the deck is in good shape in these matchups.

Relative to players, my preference was to play as many top tier tournament players. These players play more critical which creates great matchups.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
During this event, I was not looking forward to playing against rogue matchups where the things are less predictable. I would rather play Chaos Turbo, Warrior, and Panda and avoid alternate win condition decks in these larger events.

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Solemn Judgment has performed well throughout the event. Honorable mention for Tribe Infective Virus for coming up huge in my final round before top 8.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
My favorite moment of the event so far was clinching my 2022 Goat Format World Championship qualification.  There is more work to be done his event but I am glad to get the proverbial "monkey off of my back," and earn my invite.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
There are changes I would make to select cards in the main and side deck. None that I am prepared to share at the moment. I will review the film and determine what are better options for the next GoatFormat.com event.

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
Played three Patreon tournaments and won two of them.

What deck did you play today and why?
Chaos Turbo with night assailant and card destruction.

Played this because Night Assailant gives you a lot more versatility than the version with out it and Card Destruction is just too strong. You get literal auto wins on turn one from just opening with the card. It almost serves as the 4th trinity piece. In a tournament like this, you definitely will need some free wins to go deep so to me card destruction is a no brainer.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
Unoptimized decks with subpar pilots.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Stein Gate is the main deck that’s tough to prepare against. I added a single Kuriboh just for this really. Players I don’t wanna play against are my Rampage teammates and Anthony Alvarado.

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Bls and trinity if it’s possible for those to overperform.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
Warrior player sets four backrow, I end phase MST a Solemn and then Heavy for an easy game.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
I went with one Raigeki Break and one Wind Blast, would decide one way or the other. Torrential and Mirror Force are awful, I thought they might be good in a field of perceived weaker players but nah they are just overall suboptimal in a Chaos Turbo deck. Think that Dustshoot main deck is coming back now with everyone on Night Assailant Turbo.

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
I have been playing Goat recently in Mexico in local tournaments, the format is new for me, I used to play advance format.

What deck did you play today and why?
Rescue Cat OTK. I played it because it is my wife's deck, she loves Rescue Cat and she only lets me play long tournaments with it.

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
I have more experience against Chaos decks.

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
Empty Jar :(

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Mind control to see the set monsters. The information is all in this game.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
I will say the round VS Marou13, I learned a lot in that match.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
I didn't do side deck thinking about the tournament, I would like to be more prepared for the next event.

How did you prepare for today's event? Did you practice with a specific person or team?
Well I had been camping in Alaska for the past three weeks with little cell service, so I was not up to date with the YGO world. On the morning of GFC, LaBounty asked if I was back from my trip yet. I told him I was, and then he asked if I was playing the GFC today. I said “huh?”

“Deck submissions due in 30 minutes. Tourney starts in an hour and a half.”

Miraculously, my wife had already told me she was going to be hanging out with a friend for the day. When you’re old and married you have to schedule these all-day tourneys a little more in advance. It’s just better that way. Well I had a green light. Stars aligned. Time to make a deck. I looked to the other Rampage members for Turbo inspiration, made a few personal tweaks and I was ready to go.

What deck did you play today and why?
Chaos Turbo

What decks or players were you looking forward to playing against?
Anybody but Team Rampage

What decks or players were you NOT looking forward to playing against?
I was hoping for minimal mirror matchups

What card had been overperforming for you today?
Card Destruction got me back into the game when it was looking ugly a few times.

What has been your favorite moment of the event so far?
I enjoyed playing against AlephYa2 and it was my only loss of the day. I remember when he (or his brother, can’t remember which) created a Stein Monarch Cold Wave deck a year or two ago. Afterwards I had to try it. Super fun deck, tons of surprisingly dominant moves. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that kind of deck around and AlephYa brought it back, made it aggressive and did well. Always cool to see what decks they bring.

If you could go back, what (if any) changes would you would make to your deck today?
None
