Participate in a Duelist Kingdom-styled tournament with a bit of Deck Master flavor in the Goat Commander Star Chip tournament on Sunday, March 17th starting at 10AM EDT! Hit Read More for full details.
In this tournament, players will wager Star Chips against each other in matches of Goat Format Commander, and the first 4-8 players (depending on the number of entrants) will compete in a single elimination finals against each other, with the winner earning themselves the grand prize of the $100+ donated to the charity of their choice, the exclusive Commander GOAT role in the Discord, plus a $20 Duelingbook donation code/Discord Nitro for themselves. There will also be potential prizes for 2nd Place and Most Creative Deck if there are enough participants.

Signing Up
  1. Join the Casual Goat Format Discord if you haven’t already.
  2. Build a deck complaint with the Goat Format Commander rules. Feel free to ask any questions in the Goat Commander channel on the Casual Goat Format discord, or message necromancy4kids directly.
  3. Fill out this Google Form, including your discord username (not your server nickname), a duelingbook link to your deck, and which charity you would like to play for. You must submit your deck within 1 hour of the start time, to allow for it to be checked!

  4. If you do not fill out a charity but you win, your donation will go to the next highest placing player’s charity.  You can find some ideas for charities to play for HERE or HERE but you can also choose one that isn’t listed here. The charity must have an option to donate online, and might be denied if it looks shady or a donation method can’t be discerned, so it would be best for it to be in English.
  5. There will be a maximum of 32 participants, so be sure to sign up sooner rather than later! Prizes will only be awarded if 8 or more players participate.
  6. If you wish to pledge to add to the prize pool, please message necromancy4kids. This means that you will personally donate to the winning charity, not that you will pay necromancy.

Participating and Star Chip Wagering
The tournament begins on Sunday, March 17th at 10AM EDT (check the Events tab on discord for your local time, as daylight savings time begins March 10th in the US). Be sure to follow the procedure below.
  1. Unlike a normal tournament, matches will not be made for you. Instead, you have to challenge other duelists or be challenged by one yourself.
  2. If you either want to show that you are available to duel or that you are challenging another duelist, post in the Tournament Chat channel. If you are challenging someone who is searching for a duel, tag them in that channel.
  3. If you post that you are looking for a duel, you MUST accept the first challenge posted tagging you.
  4. Both players must decide on how many Star Chips to wager for the match. If there is any disagreement, it will default to the lowest amount suggested (min 1). Obviously, you cannot play for more Star Chips than you currently have.
  5. Once you enter your match, IMMEDIATELY write in the chat box on duelingbook in no uncertain terms how many Star Chips you are playing for.
  6. Remember to have both players banish their Commander at the beginning of each game, before any cards are played. If any questions arise during the tournament, tag necromancy4kids in the Tournament Chat.
  7. Once the match concludes, the winner must post the replay of the match in the Tournament Replays channel along with a tag of their opponent and how many Star Chips were wagered.
  8. Occasionally, once the tournament has been underway for some time, a Bounty Player will be announced alongside a number of Star Chips and a special hint! If you challenge and beat the Bounty Player, you will earn that amount of Star Chips, but be warned… The Bounty Player will get a special bonus when they play, such as a free Field Spell active at the beginning of the duel or an increased number of Life Points based on the hint given. Their deck might not necessarily follow the normal rules for Goat Commander, either! If you lose to the Bounty Player, you do not lose any Star Chips, but they are first-come first-serve.
  9. When you have earned all 10 Star Chips, you will be added to the tournament finals. You may need to wait some time before the remaining duelists are decided, so sit back and relax. If the tournament drags on for too long, the finals may become multi-day, but it likely won’t.
  10. If you reach 0 Star Chips at any point, you are eliminated from the tournament!
