The World Championships are almost here. They will be taking place this Saturday October 24th. All registered participants will have from 7:00pm Eastern Friday October 23rd until 10:00am Saturday October 24th to submit their deck list.

The list of the 50 participants who have signed up can be found here. No player will be added to the tournament bracket until their deck list has been submitted.

To submit deck list tournament participants must log onto the goatformat.com Discord, and use the command !join in the #world-championship section of our Discord.

The World Championships will then begin at 10:00am Eastern (Saturday October 24th)

Deck Registration
When participants use the command !join in the #world-championship section of our Discord they will receive a direct message from GoatBot. GoatBot will ask questions of the tournament participants such as their Dueling Book name, and to provide the DuelingBook download link for their tournament deck. participants should have their DuelingBook download link ready to send to GoatBot, to find your tournament deck download link simply go into the Deck Constructor on DuelingBook and click Export Deck, then click ok on Down Load Link. Copy and paste the deck ID Url that pops up. The Deck ID URL will look similar to this - https://www.duelingbook.com/deck?id=6570168

A new feature we have added to GoatBot is to collect a Watch Password. GoatBot will ask you to provide a Watcher Password. This Password should be one that is easy for participants to remember, you will have to set your Watch Password to this same password anytime you host a game during the World Championship. The player on the bottom of the bracket match should always host the game. See below:
Picture
In this example Delinkquent is on the bottom of the bracket match, Delinkquent will host the the duel and set the Watcher Password to the same password that he provided GoatBot. This password should never be given out to anyone. If a player fails to set the Watcher Password to the same password provided to GoatBot or is caught giving out their Watcher Password, they may be Disqualified from the event.

Tournament Structure
The World Championship will still be a double elimination event much like the Goat Format Championship Series. The one difference for this event is the players that make it to winners finals and the players who make it to losers finals will be placed into a new 4 person double elimination tournament that will decide who is the Goat Format World Champion. No losses from the original bracket will carry over to this new Top 4 tournament bracket.

Part one of this event will not be seeded, the seeds will be shuffled randomly on stream. In part two of the event (Top 4 Double Elimination Tournament) the two undefeated players will be seed 1 and 2.

The match to be streamed in a given round will be chosen by the commentators in a rotation.

The player who loses a match must simply input the command !loss in #world-championship on the GoatFormat.com Discord.

The winner of the match must fill End of Round Match Form and provide the link to the replay of the duel. GoatBot will direct message the winner of the duel with a link to the form below. Spooky will be available to help any players the find/use the form.

I can sort of understand the viewer password thing but where do you stand on collusion or pot splitting. Maybe I’m overthinking it but a good amount of the participants are ‘team members’ or play test within exclusive circles.

Open lobbies would definitely help the Italians catch up but still wouldn’t even the playfield. You can’t address everything but I can’t wait.

I don’t think there’s enough time but will there be a video about the entrants and a small bio. If it isn’t scheduled, the dale and skully five part video did a great job did a great job covering the flc and gfc entrants.

Shane is doing a vid I hear so maybe link that?
