Overview

Picture
Unlike most lockdown decks, Wall Stall does not protect itself with spells or traps that prevent attacks. Instead, monsters with high defense stats keep threats at bay. The most important of these is Stone Statue of the Aztecs, which can inflict massive amounts of damage on unsuspecting attackers. This is especially true when combined with Mirror Wall or Fairy Box.

Though some versions can win through burn, typical lists will utilize cards like Cross Counter or Staunch Defender to deal extra damage. If the wall player can stall long enough, a lethal combination of Staunch Defender, Ojama Trio, and Windstorm of Etaqua can end the game immediately. This kill is most powerful when Stone Statue is in play, but other high-defense monsters work as well.

Deck List

Big Sheild Gardna is important in this list, as it both soaks up Nobleman of Crossouts, as well as baits attacks. Opponents will often attack Gardna (taking damage in the process) with the intent to force it into attack position and then run over it with another monster. Predicting this play, the Wall player can either activate Cross Counter in response for heavy damage, or Staunch Defender to redirect all attacks to another wall.

Ceasefire is another Crossout counter which can end the game if the opponent is weak enough. Ring of Destruction also has this potential, with the additional benefit of removing anything big enough to get over the walls.

Additional Card Options

Roulette Barrel and Thousand Needles are both tough monsters that can provide some removal. Reinforcement of the Army (RotA) could fill this role as well when searching out Exiled Force. If run, Big Shield Gardna would be another relevant target for RotA.

Destruction Punch is a strictly worse Cross Counter, but room could be found for it. Similarly, Fairy Box fills the same role as Mirror Wall. In true risk versus reward fashion, it requires a bit of luck, but can be devastating for the opponent.

Dark Spirit of the Silent, Shift, and Taunt all ensure the correct monsters are attacking the correct targets. Spirit pairs well with Ojama Trio, as it can force tokens into attack position. Shift can save monsters from Crossout or other removal cards, while still redirecting attacks.
