Overview

Spell Economics FTK (sometimes known as “DMOC Launch”) is a combo deck which makes use of the namesake Spell Economics in order to make Dimension Fusion playable for no cost. The deck tries to summon Dark Magician of Chaos (DMOC) as fast as possible with both Economics and either Mass Driver and Toon Cannon Soldier on the field. Once this is done, the loop can begin. The DMOC is sacrificed to damage the opponent, banishing him to his own effect. Then, Dimension Fusion is played and DMOC is returned to the field. His effect is activated to retrieve the Dimension Fusion. Because no life points are paid, this process can be repeated infinitely to inflict lethal damage to the opponent.
Beyond this selection of combo pieces, the Economics decks wildly vary. Many take advantage of the Reasoning/Monster Gate engine as a means to get DMOC on the field and the necessary spells in the graveyard. Others employ the use of the Empty Jar engine to amass card advantage, which the deck can make easy use of thanks to being comprised of a majority of spells. Unique to the strategy is the occasional use of Soul Release. This card lets you banish both DMOC and a Cannon Soldier from your graveyard so both can be summoned off the same Dimension Fusion.

Deck List
Mascis piloted this list to a top four finish at FLC 8. Notably, both the Empty Jar and Reasoning Gate engines are included. books and jars are combined to draw through the deck until the combo is found, while Reasoning and Monster Gate can use the mill route, hopefully finding either DMOC or a jar.
