Overview

Picture
Similar to Horus decks in game plan, Silent Swordsman attempts to summon and level up Silent Swordsman to LV7. Royal Decree is usually included to create a soft lock broken only by monster effects. Some versions play Mirage Dragon or Pitch-Black Warwolf, which act as extra copies of Decree. Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer is also popular, as he prevents chaos monsters from being summoned and banishing Swordsman.

Swordsman LV3 is both a warrior and a Light monsters, so Reinforcement of the Army (RotA) and Shining Angel are both used to consistently find him. Some toolboxing is thus possible, with D.D. Warrior Lady, Exiled Force, and Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke being some of the most common choices.

Because of how difficult it can be to level up from LV5 to LV7, the spell card Level Up! is more common in Silent Swordsman than in other LV aggro decks.

Deck List

A full toolbox of warriors and Light monsters are included in this list so that most threats can be answered efficiently. Kycoo stop chaos, and ups our Dark count to make playing Black Luster Soldier possible.

With Royal Decree being played, the deck can't use as many traps as other aggro decks. Smashing Ground is an attempt to fill the void left by absent Sakuretsu Armor and Trap Dustshoot. While it can't protect any of the Swordsman from Tsukuyomi, it can kill off Spy and other walls preventing LV5 from getting his direct hit in.

Additional Card Options

Some players will opt to forgo Decree altogether so that they can play a full lineup of backrow typical of aggro decks. These versions will often play Mirage Dragon, Pitch-Black Warwolf, or both, in order to still achieve some level of a soft lock.

With so many Light monsters, Freed the Brave Wanderer and Soul of Purity and Light are easy inclusions. Freed specifically can also be searched out by RotA, and both feed off of Thunder Dragon well.

Shooting Star Bow - Ceal is cute, helping LV5 get past pesky walls, but it's likely not the best choice for a deck slot.
