Overview

Picture
Sealmaster decks utilize the normal spellcaster monster alongside his support cards to create a deck some see as hybrid blend of archetypal roles. Though the deck's namesake is weak, lists will often play aggressively, using Sealmaster's Talismans to disrupt the opponent and hoping to defeat them before they can get back on their feet.

Both Talisman of Spell Sealing and Talisman of Trap Sealing are played, but the former is more common. This is because traps like Sakuretsu Armor, Widespread Ruin, and Trap Dustshoot are seen as necessary in keeping Meisei alive. To compensate, players sometimes use Mirage Dragon or Pitch-Black Warwolf to disrupt the opponent's traps, without affecting their own.

Sealmaster decks have access to a high number of floaters, as both Emissary of the Afterlife and Mystic Tomato are able to search for Meisei. Both options have their strengths, and provide the deck with higher consistency, as well as additional aggro potential.

Deck List

Both aforementioned floaters are included her, each with their own singleton targets beyond Sealmaster himself. Tomato can find Don Zaloog for hand disruption, or Sangan, who can then search out a light monster, or put Meisei safely in hand. Emissary gives access to Sonic Duck for beats, or Bio Mage, which is included alongside Mirage Dragon and D.D. Warrior Lady in the Light monster package, fueling Black Luster Soldier.

Talisman of Spell Sealing was chosen over its trap-cancelling counterpart in order to allow for battle traps to keep Sealmaster alive and the opponent's monster counts low. With Mirage Dragon also in play, the opponent will be soft-locked, making it difficult for them to regain control over the game.

Additional Card Options

Heart of Clear Water is sometimes equipped to Sealmaster Meisei in order to keep him alive, but it is weak to Book of Moon and Tsukuyomi, and does not synergize well with Talisman of Spell Sealing.

With a high number of small normal monsters included, many will choose to play normal support cards. Dark Factory of Mas Production recurs Sealmasters, and reduces the loss in card advantage incurred by playing Order to Charge or Order to Smash.
