Overview

Picture
Sacred Phoenix decks focus on summoning Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys as quickly as possible and riding it to victory. Usually, this is through the effect of Hand of Nephthys. In order to easily find and safely activate Hand, it is searched for using Apprentice Magician. Magician of Faith and Old Vindictive Magician are additional staples which come as a package with Apprentice and give the deck powerful and consistent utility.

Scapegoat is almost always included in Phoenix decks, since the tokens make for great tribute fodder for Hand. This opens the door for other cards that can make use of the tokens, like Enemy Controller or Creature Swap.

Phoenix decks are weak to banish effects which prevent Phoenix from reanimating itself. Bottomless Trap Hole, Chaos Sorcerer, and others are all cards a Phoenix pilot needs to be prepared for. Many of the cards included in Sacred Phoenix decks are included as a way to combat these threats.

Deck List

A typical Phoenix list which uses almost all of the most common cards seen in the strategy. In order to prevent a chaos banish targeting phoenix, Kycoo is included as a full set alongside three Solemn Judgement. D.D. Assailant gives the deck aggro potential alongside Kycoo, and can also act as an answer to a chaos threat.
