Overview

Picture
Machine Aggro beats down with machine-type monsters. Specifically, this is a deck that uses machines and their support, mainly Limiter Removal, but does not use Giant Trunade for a combo finish. Instead, Machine Aggro lists tend to play large numbers of disruptive backrow cards, like Solemn Judgement and Sakuretsu Armor, as well as high ATK machines, like Mechanicalchaser and X-head Cannon. Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive, Drillago, and UFO Turtle are all played as well.

What sets Machine Aggro apart from other aggro decks of the format is access to the primary machine support card of the format, Limiter Removal. Removal's quickplay spell typing allows it to be played from the hand during the pilot's combat step. So, the deck can produce game-ending blows without much warning.

Deck List

The biggest machine beaters available are all used in the below list. UFO Turtle and Dekoichi keep your card count high, while Mechanicalchaser and X-Head beat over or match most of the format's four-star threats. All of this, while Saku, Solemn, and Ruin keep the opponent's monster count low.

Variants

Variant Title

The most popular Machine Aggro deck, XYZ Machine Aggro is based on the X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head, and Z-Metal Tank monster lineup. These machines can fuse into powerful threats without the need for Polymerization or Fusion Gate, which leaves space in the deck for other, more useful, cards. Shining Angel is common, as it can find two of the three pieces.

The reliance on the discard effects of each of the three fusions usually results in some combination of Sinister Serpent, Night Assailant, and/or Thunder Dragon being played. Sinister pairs well with Abyss Soldier, while Night Assailant and Dekoichi go hand-in-hand.

Because each of the XYZ monsters banish themselves when they fuse, Return from the Different Dimension and Dimension Fusion often find their way into the deck.

Additional Card Options

Tribute monsters like Ancient Gear Beast, Blowback Dragon, and Jinzo slow the deck down, but have high stats and powerful effects that some players swear by. Helping Robo for Combat is a mediocre beater with an equally uninteresting ability, but it helps to increase the deck's Light count, which brings Black Luster Soldier into the picture.
