Congratulations to Chris Pittao, our Goat Grand Prix Toronto Champion!
Just a few weeks ago, Chris Pittao was narrowly eliminated from the Top 8 of GGP Cincinatti by eventual Champion Austin Bugg. Once again, it looked like his work was cut out for him here at Toronto: the first five rounds of Swiss were looking like the Dale Bellido show, and with their respective fourth and first seeds, Pittao was seeded to play Bellido in Top 4. But Bellido's undefeated run in Swiss was met with a swift upset in Top 8 at the hands of Alan Lee, while Pittao kept it moving through a tight Chaos Turbo mirror against John Drouin. From there, it was back-to-back Reasoning/Gate matchups for Pittao, but neither Alan Lee nor Jason Parreno could get anything going, leaving Pittao as the last man standing! Congratulations to Pittao on another great showing! |
