Overview

Picture
Elemental Hero tries to summon one of the two Elemental Hero fusions available in goat format: Elemental HERO Thunder Giant, and Elemental HERO Flame Wingman. Of the two, Thunder Giant is the most powerful, sporting higher attack and repeatable removal. Of the smaller Heroes, Elemental HERO Clayman and Elemental HERO Sparkman are the most played. They have better stats than their kin, and both are part of the Thunder Giant Fusion. They, and the rest of their team, can be searched for with Hero Signal.

Summoning the fusion Heroes happens in one of two ways. Some lists opt for the classic Polymerization, pairing the spell with fusion substitutes like King of the Swamp, and sometimes Fusion Sage. Others will play Fusion Gate, searching it out with Terraforming.

Deck List

Mother Grizzly serves three roles in the list below. Firstly, it searches out King of the Swamp for easy fusion summons. Second, it finds Sinister Serpent, which allows Thunder Giant's ability to be activated every turn without a real cost. Finally, it makes Hero Signal more reliable by dying in combat.

With each Elemental Hero also being a warrior, Reinforcement of the Army is a must. It makes our fusions that much more likely, and allows us to play toolbox answers like D.D. Warrior lady and Exiled Force.

Additional Card Options

Emissary of the Afterlife is sometimes played as a way to search out the smaller heroes. If Sinister Serpent is not enough discard fodder, some players decide to take a page from Chaos lists and run Thunder Dragon and/or Night Assailant. The ladder usually requires extra flip monsters to be relevant. Magician of Faith is a popular choice, as she can recycle Polymerization or lost Fusion Gates.
