Overview

Picture
Like the name implies, Earth Aggro is all about the Earth attribute and support for it. Giant Rat is the staple monster, recruiting powerful threats like Injection Fairy Lily, or unrivaled answers, like Exiled Force. What sets the strategy apart from other attribute decks, though, are the two different special summon beaters. Both Gigantes and The Earth Spirit are often played alongside rat, who fuels their summons. With these core threats, Earth Aggro is all about filling the field and keeping it full. Though not always played, Gaia Power brings in even more damage to the table.

Deck List

Roghnach's FLC19 winning list. While Gaia Power is absent, Giant Rat both toolboxes for answers and threats, while also fueling a full set of three Gigantes and two The Rock Spirit. Goblin Attack Force brings the hard beats, answering walls like Gravekeeper's Spy, and running over enemy threats, like Airknight Parshath. Additionally, Goblin is great Special Summon fuel, should it die in the swing back.

Reinforcement of the Army searches up any of your threat answers, but can also grab a Goblin if being a threat is more important. Smashing Ground and Trap Dustshoot keep monster zones clear for big damage pushes, while Dust Tornado stop battle traps.

Additional Card Options

There are many notable Earth monsters that see play in Earth Aggro. Bubonic Vermin, Hyena, and Nimble Momonga easily fill the field and fuel Gigantis and Earth Spirit summons, though they are weak. Chiron the Mage deals with hostile spells and traps, and Mad Sword Beast pierces goat tokens without even having to worry about Tsukuyomi, thanks to his high defense. Gyaku-Gire Panda is also powerful against Scapegoat and, just like Sword Beast, can be searched for with Giant Rat.

The Trojan Horse and Zolga are common in lists which rely on tributes like Driceratops, Granmarg, or Black Tyranno. Previously mentioned recruiter monsters also work well in these versions, as they can consistently fuel both a tribute summon and a special summon, sometimes in the same turn. While prone to bricking, these lists have explosive lines of play.
