Overview

Picture
One of the most successful decks in the format, Chaos Turbo is defined by its use of flip monsters and discard fodder, along with Chaos Sorcerer. Thunder Dragon is the most iconic card in the deck; when most people think of Thunder Dragon, they think of Chaos Turbo. However, Night Assailant is also important, as it compliments the high number of flip-effect monsters played. These include Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive, Gravekeeper's Spy, Magician of Faith, and sometimes Dark Mimic LV1or Magical Merchant.

Unlike the format's other premier control deck, Goat Control, both Scapegoat and Metamorphosis are absent from Turbo's strategy. Instead, the deck prefers to gain card advantage through its floaters and discard fodder. Each helps the deck play strong discard traps like Raigeki Break, while neutering opposing discard and enabling aggressive boards when appropriate.

Deck List

The following is the winning list from the Goat Format World Championship 2020 event, which was designed and piloted by Riccardo Lari (Riclar91). The list is fairly standard, with a full three Dekoichi and Spy, as well as the standard two Magician of Faith to keep the Light count up. Mystic Tomato tutors Sangan, which then finds Sinister. The plant can also find a flip monster to allow for Book of Moon plays. To round things out,  the singleton Kycoo acts as a silver bullet against other Chaos-centered decks.
