Overview

Picture
Chaos Control combines two of the most powerful decks in the format (Goat Control and Chaos Turbo) into one. The core of one Black Luster Soldier, Chaos Sorcerer, Metamorphosis, and Scapegoat is supported by many of the format's most powerful Light and Dark monsters. These include, but are not limited to: Breaker the Magical Warrior, Sangan, and Tsukuyomi, Magician of Faith, Magical Merchant, Shining Angel, and Skilled White Magician.

The deck tends to battle for attrition early on, gaining card advantage through its powerful removal options in Chaos Sorcerer and Thousand Eyes Restrict. This being said, however, the deck is also know for its ability to adapt and play whichever role is required of it. If needed, it can easily go on the offensive, especially when the pilot has tailored their list for such plays.

Deck List

This is a typical "Skilled White" Chaos Control list. Here, Skilled White Magician can act as a defensive wall or offesnive attacker, depending on what's needed. Tsukuyomi and Book of Moon partner with the varied flip monsters for additional card advantage, and the singleton Asura Priest helps deal with opposing Scapegoats, which is something the strategy tends to have difficulty with.

Variants

Angel Chaos Control

User Astonsn made top eight of the Goat Format Championship 3v3 with the following list. Instead of playing Skilled White Magician, Angel Chaos opts for Shining Angel, and aggressive floater which has the potential to search for powerful flip monsters like Magician of Faith, who can then be flipped face down with Tsukuyomi of Book of Moon.

Thunder Dragon Chaos Control

Dale Bellido's second place list from the World Championship 2020 event. Here, Thunder Dragon is the core Light monster of choice. When played, it opens the Chaos Control player to powerful discard effects like Raigeki Break or Tribe-Infecting Virus.

Additional Card Options

Which additional options are viable for the Chaos Control player is often dependent on the core Light monster of choice. As an example, Shining Angel players will have the option of including silver bullet Light targets, whereas Thunder Dragon players are allowed more discard effects, like Phoenix Wing Wind Blast.
