Overview

Picture
Bugroth OTK is a combo deck which tries to kill the opponent in one turn by using Limiter Removal on one or more Amphibious Bugroth MK-3 while A Legendary Ocean is on the field. Ocean lets Bugroth slip past any protective monsters the opponent may have, and hit them directly. This also makes it great against Scapegoat, one of the most popular protect spells in the format.

Because of the low ATK stat of Bugroth, floodgates like Level Limit - Area B and Gravity Bind are often used to protect the machine until a kill can be assembled. Though Giant Trunade is used to clear the path of opposing battle traps, it's not needed to clear the deck's own floogates. this is because Ocean reduces Bugroth's level, allowing it to attack under the gates.

Water support cards are typically used in Bugroth OTK, too. Abyss Soldier bounces anything that might be hindering the combo, and its best buddy, Sinister Serpent, can be searched for with Mother Grizzly. The bear matriarch can also find the deck's namesake monster for consistency.

Deck List

This list opts for the Grizzly package. While there are no Abyss Soldiers or Serpents, the bear offers early protection, searches out part of the combo, and finds Yomi Ship for a little threat removal.

Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive and Gear Golem the Moving Fortress up our machine count to make Limiter Removal more impactful. Dekoichi draws us into our combo pieces, while Gear Golem attacks directly alongside Bugroth to ensure your attacks are lethal.

Additional Card Options

Jinzo is a machine-type monster that makes the deck less reliant on Giant Trunade, though the tribute cost can be troublesome. Ancient Gear Beast is more of the same. Though less powerful, it allows you to play your own traps unhindered.

Star Boy adds to Bugroth's damage while sitting safely behind Bind or Level Limit. It's searchable not only by Grizzly, but also through Last Will, just like Bugroth.

Because of the reliance on multiple continuous spell cards, Magic Reflector is a respectable option. Pairing Weapon Change with Gear Golem would make it even more useful, too.
