Overview

Picture
Amazon is a monster-based deck that focuses on the archetypal Amazoness monsters and their support cards. While most of them have a low attack stat compared to other more common beatdown monsters, they often strengthen themselves or each other. Additionally, support cards like Amazoness Spellcaster and Amazoness Archers influence monster stats and allow for combat tricks which put the female warriors on top. Archers excels at dealing with opposing flip monsters, and is known for its combo with Ojama Trio, which can result in enough damage to end the game seemingly out of nowhere.

Because every Amazoness monster is a warrior (except for tiger), it is common for Amazon decks to play Reinforcement of the Army (RotA), which allows D.D. Warrior Lady, Exiled Force, and other powerful warriors to make their way into lists. Their shared Earth attribute and generally low attack makes Giant Rat another common inclusion.

Deck List

A typical Amazon list. There are not too many surprises here. Amazoness Archer can be found with either RotA or Rat, and pairs with Scapegoat for an easy 1200 damage. The inclusion of Goat also justifies enemy Controller, an oft-forgotten quickplay spell that can easily turn the tide in a duel. In the trap lineup, Solemn Judgement prevents power plays and protects attacking Amazons from battle traps.

Additional Card Options

Any of the unused Amazoness monsters could be included, though the only one with real potential is Chain Master.

With RotA and a deck full of warriors, toolbox targets and warrior support is always an option. Assailant deals with large threats, Command Knight makes Amazons even stronger (plus, being a woman keeps her on theme), and Captain helps swarm the field for damage. Cyber Jar can also help swarm, while Gaia Power brings even more hurt thanks to the majority of the monster lineup feeling its power boost.
