Overview

Picture
Aitsu Koitsu is an aggro deck that focuses on the fairy duo of Aitsu and Koitsu. The goal is to cheat both into play, equip Koitsu to Aitsu, and beat face.

Both monsters are too high of a level to normal summon, so pilots of the deck usually need get crafty when figuring out how to get them into play. Recruiters UFO Turtle and Mother Grizzly are the most common. Last Will is also played often, though how players choose to trigger it varies. Big Wave Small Wave only summons Koitsu, but is also a way to trigger Last Will.

With so many Water monsters played, Abyss Soldier is a frequently seen beater made better by Mother Grizzly searching for Sinister Serpent. Mirage Dragon, Pitch-Black Warwolf, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, and others are also played.

Because of the nature of the Aitsu and Koitsu interaction, the deck is susceptible to many threats. For example, it is incredibly weak to Both Book of Moon and Tsukuyomi, which completely nullify the pair and are difficult to stop. Removal in general is also a problem, as most games consist of the deck spending a lot of resources in order to make a single threat. If it gets destroyed or banished, it's difficult for Aitsu Koitsu to recover. Solemn Judgement, My Body as a Shield, Spell Shield Type-8, and other protection cards help reduce risk, but do not solve these problems entirely.

Deck List

Aistu is played in higher numbers than Koitsu here. This is because his trubute summon can activate Last Will, making him much more useful in hand than his Water counterpart. Exiled Force was included because of its synergy with Last Will as well. Mirage Dragon and Pitch-Black Warwolf prevent battle traps from destroying an equipped Aitsu. Breaker and Abyss Soldier more or less serve the same purpose.

Additional Card Options

Players looking for a bit of spice have been known to play KA-2 Des Scissors. Using Creature Swap to trade in Koitsu, then attacking it with Scissors results in over 5000 damage. Ameba also pairs well with Swap, and gives the deck more Water fodder for Abyss.

Toon Cannon Soldier is an easily found method of activating Last Will. It can also close out games with its burn damage. If included alongside Toon Table of Contents, one could also play Toon Alligator to pair with Abyss Soldier.
