Hello GOAT World! This is your offbeat reporter Kerem, back with a hot new scoop from the GOAT Format frontlines! This past weekend, I had the awesome opportunity to catch-up with one of the in-person GOAT events that got picked up onto our radar, hosted by none other than Collectible's Exchange, located at 9155 Archibald Ave Suite E, Rancho Cucamonga, California 91730. The event? A hybrid celebration of GOAT Format dueling and the release hype around the Nintendo Switch 2! But let’s be real, the main attraction was the GOAT Format tournament, and it did not disappoint. 36 dedicated duelists showed up ready to shuffle up and throw down in the Shadow Realm, each hoping to rise above the competition and etch their name into the local meta history. The vibes were electric, the competition fierce, and the decks? Oh, they brought the spice. After intense rounds of mind games, reads, and topdecks, we’ve got the Top 8 deck lists ready for your eyes. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, innovation, or just want to see what’s popping in the Southern California scene, we’ve got you covered. 🥇 Taking 1st Place (and walking away with the highly coveted Nintendo Switch 2) is none other than Jackson Hamilton, who impressed the field with his unique spin on Chaos Warrior! Chaos Warrior has been on the rise in popularity across the board in the online & in-person scene, and we're glad to see another notch on the belt for this deck’s success. Jackson gave us his take on Chaos Warrior with some notable tech choices like the fan favorite lunchbox: Dark Mimic LV3 finding its way into the main deck, as well as a pesky Graverobber holding it down in the side board. We’re also thrilled to announce that, in recognition of this outstanding performance, we’re officially reaching out to Jackson to not only congratulate him, but to award him a Premium World Championship Qualifier (PWCQ) Ticket for the upcoming PWCQ 77, happening on July 19th! 🥈 Coming in as the Runner-Up, and putting up a phenomenal fight throughout the day, was Lawrence Lim, who chose to run the format’s tried-and-true classic: Chaos Turbo. Although playing the deck of the format, Lim elected to teach an old dog new tricks and try out some spicy tech choices in his side board like Needle Ceiling and Skilled Dark Magician. Also important to note here that Trap Dustshoot is missing from the 55. Want Your Locals Featured? Do you want your GOAT Format locals event spotlighted in our next article or even featured on YouTube? Whether it's a major throwdown or a cozy community get-together, we want to hear from you!
